NYZ Apocalypse is a unique interactive zombie survival experience, and this year NYZ will be putting on special productions all October long!

Fearful Fridays
Our special themed events this October cannot be topped. We've enlisted the help of New York Art Collective Fringe Immersive to create some of NY's most intense, interactive and immersive survival horror experiences!

Every Friday is a new theme designed to be interactive and immersive and all meant to scare the Hell out of you and your group! Click the Special Events tab for more information about each week's theme.

NYZ Evolution Saturdays
NYZ Evolution is our reboot of the classic NYZ Apocalypse experience you know and love with many changes! Set two years after the initial outbreak in the underground Apollo Prison, the infected have adapted and evolved to become more sinister and horrifying than ever before. Mini missions have been added while you wait to be reloaded.

New scripts, new zombies, new interactions and a long awaited and asked for Boss Battle have been created to spice up our most intense and dark NYZ feature.

NYZ Apocalypse is a unique interactive zombie survival experience. The apocalypse begins in an underground top secret prison system, where inmates and staff infected with a deadly infectious virus terrorize the living. Over the course of about 45 minutes, you will be briefed, trained and thrust into the Apocalypse, where you must face down the infected, re-arm yourself and interact with any known survivors.

The Experience NYZ Apocalypse is an interactive live-action theatrical production, where you decide your fate. Equipped with gas recoil laser weapons, your group will enter the Apollo Prison System and fight back hundreds of zombies. At NYZ, you can only survive the Apocalypse by working as a team. Make sure the zombies don't get close enough to "infect" you, and be sure to interact with the guards and personnel inside the prison network to reload your weapons. From the moment you arrive at NYZ, you will be a part of the story. For a totally immersive and truly memorable experience, leave your ego at the door.

The Story Inside Apollo Prison, a maximum security prison network, a weaponized viral strand has infected large amounts of the inmates and staff, leading to absolute chaos. If you choose to volunteer to help contain the outbreak inside Apollo Prison, you will be sent underground to face the infected. Mutations of the infection have led zombies to act differently throughout the facility. Some run to find their next meal, some will wait until you are within arm's reach, but all of them want one thing; your brains. Whatever you do, make sure not to enter the basement of the Prison System.

The Weapons At NYZ Apocalypse, you will be equipped with a full weight laser rifle. Utilizing a unique gas-recoil system, these weapons fire an infrared laser beam accurate up to 500 yards. Nothing but a harmless beam of light is fired from these guns, and no form of protective gear is required. Conserving your shots, reloading and finding spare ammunition will all be necessary throughout the Apollo Prison System.

Escape the Dark Sundays
This is an event sure to give you long lasting nightmares! ESCAPE THE DARK is New York's ONLY LIGHTS OUT ESCAPE HOUSE!

The staff was great and never broke character from the front door till the exit sign. The overall experience is definitely worth seeing. We are coming back with a larger crowd.

  • Ultra Violence

Never went to an 18 and up show before, glad this was my first. What a cool show. Feels like you're in a video game. No zombies but street gangs you had to do battle with and only with a foam pipe or club. So much fun.

  • Intense, dark and fun

We went to the lights out show where you get a flash light and have to interact with actors and they can touch you if you want. Was an intense time being pulled into different directions and the ending is terrifying. worth it. too scary for kids though i think.

  • 5 out of 5 pumpkins!

NYZ Apocalypse is fun and scary. It's like an interactive haunted house plus laser tag! You're adrenaline is pumping the entire time. All actors stay in character and are really funny and intense. The zombies are awesome and makeup is its done great. There are about 20 rooms you get to go through which are designed and decorated wonderfully. My group had the best time. We even got to compare stats at the end and pose for a group picture with a zombie. 5 out of 5 pumpkins well earned!!

  • A one of a kind Experience

Amazing !!! I was completely immersed in the atmosphere of NYZ . From as soon as we arrived up to the time we exited our adrenaline was pumpin!! All the actors stayed in character throughout the whole experience. As we walked through we were engulfed with an array of smells ranging from rotting flesh of the zombies, to the musky aroma of apollo prisen bathroom that hasen't been cleaned since the outbreak. The commander standing outside was hysterical and loved messing with my group . Don't take him too seriously his job is to basically make fun of you. The guns were pretty realistic when it comes to weight , they also had a recoil to them . Definitely will be going back soon. Overall 2 spoopy 5 me

  • non stop terror

I went to NYZ apocalypse for the first time the other day and had a great time. the hair stood up on the back of my neck the entire walk from beginning to end. there was danger and surprises around every corner.I have frequented many haunted houses over the years and I have never seen anything like this before in my entire life it is a truly eye-opening and a one-of-a-kind experience.I recommend anyone to try this if they dare.

  • Nothing like you ever experienced before

I am a person who frequents haunted houses every year so I jumped at this opportunity to visit this place. You get an airsoft rifle or gun and shoot zombie which are coming to get you. It is sort of like lazer tag where the zombie actors are wearing a sensor. When it vibrates they 'die' for 3-5 seconds but if they get too close to them then you will have been 'bitten' and your weapon does not work for 3-5 seconds. You feel like you are in a zombie movie. The zombies come from the front, back and the sides. The actors do an absolutely awesome job staying in character and do a great job doing improv:) It is errie but it feels more like you are in an action movie. I saw a guy I knew waiting on line and he was going for the second time. You will not regret going and have an absolute blast:)

  • A rare gem of Long Island.

Participatory theatre isn't a new thing but NYZ itself is one of a kind. You're whoever you want to be during a simulated outbreak of the undead and you get a gun to blast the badies away too. Far more action than horror or anything scary, you will immerse yourself in a roughly 45 minute adventure that is open all year long. For scares, a classic haunt is the place to be but, for blasting zombies away, head to NYZ.
